Kishani Jayasinghe - Soprano 

Sri Lankan soprano Kishani Jayasinghe obtained her operatic training at the RAM and continues to study with Noelle Barker and Audrey Hyland. Her awards include Sri Lanka’s Young Musician of the Year, the WCM Silver Medal, Elena Gerhardt Lieder Prize and Isabel Jay Operatic Prize. She also has an LLB and LLM from the University of Nottingham. Kishani’s operatic repertory includes Pamina, Sandrina (Finta giardiniera), Fiordiligi, Mimì, Dido, Leïla (Pêcheurs de perles) and Soprano Actress (Night at the Chinese Opera). Her recital repertory includes works by Strauss, Berg, Britten, Duparc and Rachmaninov. She joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme in September 2006 and made her Royal Opera debut as Chloë (Queen of Spades). She has since sung Ines (Il trovatore), Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore), Flowermaiden (Parsifal) and Papagena, and has understudied Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Zerlina, Adina and Pamina for the ROH. Future performances include Barbarina for the Royal Opera House and a Wigmore recital in October. She will also understudy Susanna and Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos) for the Royal Opera House.
