Eastbourne Choral Society

Music for a Summer's Evening

The Charities

The two charities that we will be supporting are:-

Children with Cancer Fund (Registered Charity No.1110644) based at Polegate http://www.childrenwithcancerfund.co.uk/   The aim of this charity is to raise money and distribute it to causes that are associated with children up to the age of 18 who are living with cancer and who live in this area.

Rachel's House (Registered Charity No.1115669). This charity was set up by Jeanette Atkinson after her daughter lost a four year battle against skin cancer. The aim is to set up a respite hotel locally where young people living with cancer can come for a holiday with their parents and where they can meet others in similar situations.

Local Children’s Cancer Charities benefit from Choral Society’s Summer Concert.

Representatives from the “Children with Cancer Fund at Polegate” and “Rachel’s House” each received cheques of £750 at Eastbourne Choral Society’s social gathering which was held at the start of their new season. The money was raised at the choir’s summer concert and was donated to the charities in memory of Valerie Thomas, a former choir member.
